Every word an Epitaph
It’s never too late, or too early, to realize the brevity of our lives
Every word we utter matters. “In the Beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” John 1:1
God spoke all things into being. Even though we have fallen “short of the glories of God” (Romans 3:23), that only means our words of fallenness have still the remnant of glory that we bring into the world: and we can curse others in the same breath. What we say matters: what we write will create a future in which our children will have to live into.
Let what we say today, what we post on social media, what we refrain from saying (our silence
- more on this on my next post on Kenosis), be our epitaph of love and hope.
It’s never too late, or too early, to realize the brevity of our lives; whatever we put in social media today will remain (even if you delete your account) in perpetuity in some ghastly ways. So post with knowing you are leaving a digital footprint of who you are, that you are posting your social media epitaph. I want my legacy in life to be for beauty, truth and goodness so that the next generation and beyond can plant seeds of hope and they will take deeper roots.
